A selection of photographs from my recent collaboration with artist Zhénya Stoyanova.
My last shoot of 2022 and what an excellent way to end the year working with someone who is a growing artist in their own right. Zhénya draws and paints and sculpts portraits and fashion work. I'm really taken by her drawings of people made with a single convoluted sweep of the pen.
While most of what we collaborated on was conventional portraiture and fashion we also delved into movement with long exposures and flash capturing Zhénya in ambiguous soft blurs. Colour was added only through enhancing what was already there by pushing the saturation and colour grading sliders in Lightroom.
